SIGN IN & BE ON TIME

Class begins at the time listed. Important info such as movement instruction could be missed by your tardiness. We understand traffic happens but do your best to catch up and not slow down class. Sign up as far in advance as possible so our coaches can plan ahead too.

CHECK YOUR EGO AT THE DOOR

Technique is the most important thing you’ll learn upon joining and you will be on a constant journey to improve your movement. People will lift more than you and that is okay. Focus on yourself and you’ll improve much more quickly and injury free.

CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF

Once everyone has completed the WOD, then we all clean up & wipe down our equipment as a group. In addition to equipment, clean up any sweat, blood, or chalk puddles you may have made.

RESPECT THE EQUIPMENT

Dropping weight is a last resort. Always keep your weight under control for your and others’ safety. Never drop an empty barbell or loaded with small plates. Never drop a kettlebell or dumbbell.

GIVE YOUR 100% & BE POSITIVE

Effort earns respect. Work hard and be optimistic about the workout. A bad attitude drags everyone else down. Everyone else had a long day too and wants to release some stress on the workout.

DON’T CHEAT YOUR REPS

This should go without saying. No one cares what your score is and no one likes a cheater. Do not cheat movement standards or rep counts as you’re only cheating yourself. Be honest with yourself and everyone else for mutual respect. We will not record cheated scores on the whiteboard.

NO UNATTENDED LIFTING

The box is only open on the hours listed in schedule. Lifting will only be done according to one of our programs with coach guidance. We have coaching and classes for a reason so you cannot just do your own thing. This only leads to injury, overuse, and burnout. The coach on duty needs to be able to concentrate on the class and not what everyone else is doing.

SILENCE YOUR PHONE

CrossFit BR is a social environment. Texting, phone calls, and headphones are antisocial. Athletes must be able to hear a coach’s cue while lifting or working out to stay safe for themselves and others.

LET THE COACHES DO THE COACHING

Do not call out your fellow athlete for a missed rep or range of motion error. Also do not attempt to coach someone on a movement unless they are really about to hurt themselves and it is important they stop immediately. Most likely the coach is cueing or not cueing the athlete for a reason. You may bring an issue to a coach’s attention so it may be resolved. Encouragement, clapping, and cheering are all welcome!
